Surfskis under A$4,000

A surfski's price mostly comes down to its layup. The same hull can cost A$3,300 in glass and A$6,000 in carbon, so a cheaper ski is usually a heavier version of the same shape, not a worse one.

A few extra kilos matter more on the roof rack and the walk to the water than they do for speed. Cheaper layups are also less stiff, and harder to repair after hitting rocks.
