Both scores are rated at the hull's own design weight. How these are derived.

53cm beam, flat hull and heavy plastic build make it one of the most stable skis available (near/above an Epic V8) but slow - the weight and short waterline cap top speed well below composite skis.

Suits: Absolute beginners, rockgardening, rough-handling, kids/family, warm-up boat; bays, estuaries and small surf where toughness matters more than speed.

Paddler weight

This hull is built around a paddler of about 82 kg. It stays workable from 72 kg to 87 kg, and sits at its best between 76 kg and 84 kg.

Derived from published hull dimensions and calibrated against manufacturer paddler limits, not taken from a marketing range. The method, in full.

Generations

2015-

World's first thermo-moulded plastic surfski, made from Styrolight (a stiff, impact-resistant ABS/styrene with an acrylic UV surface layer). Single plastic layup only - no carbon variant. Still current/available in Australia in 2026 (also sold as Styrolight).

What works, and what it costs you

What works

  • Almost indestructible - high impact strength even in cold
  • Very stable and beginner-friendly
  • Cheapest way into a Vajda ski; 100% recyclable material
  • Rear hatch, POWERGLIDE no-screw footbrace, carry handles

Trade-offs

  • Heavy at 19.5kg
  • Slow compared with composite skis
  • Not a race boat - purely recreational/entry
