Privacy

You can use the whole site without an account or giving us your name. This page lists what does get collected and why.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and sends Google details such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address. We use the reports only to improve the site, and we don't combine them with anything else or use them for advertising.

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also counts visits with its Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies.

To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a tracker blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on the site stops working if you do.

Your settings

The weight, currency and filters you choose are saved in your own browser's local storage so they're still there next time. They never leave your device, and clearing your site data removes them.

The contact form

If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and message, plus the craft you mention. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it. Messages are stored by our form service and emailed to us through Amazon SES. We use them only to reply and to fix the site, never for marketing, and we'll delete yours if you ask.

Hosting and logs

Cloudflare serves the site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver pages, block abuse and limit how fast the search API can be called. We don't keep our own access logs.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't show ads or use your visits for advertising. Links to makers and dealers are plain links, so once you follow one, that site's own privacy policy applies.
