Zedtech Dominator XL
6.2m x 47cm version of the Dominator, four centimetres wider and nearly forty shorter. Zedtech sold it as the comfortable one, for paddlers learning to handle rough water and waves rather than racing in them.

On-water profile
Both scores are rated at the hull's own design weight. How these are derived.
Suits: Rough water and small downwind runs for a paddler moving up from a stable ski.
Paddler weight
This hull is built around a paddler of about 93 kg. It stays workable from 82 kg to 99 kg, and sits at its best between 87 kg and 95 kg.
Derived from published hull dimensions and calibrated against manufacturer paddler limits, not taken from a marketing range. The method, in full.
Generations
Zedtech built handmade composite kayaks and surfskis in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal. The Dominator arrived in March 2009 as the brand's long-distance ocean ski and the Griffin followed that December; a Lightning and an XL version of the Dominator widened the range to four before the brand went quiet.
What works, and what it costs you
What works
- Far more forgiving than the standard Dominator
- Still long enough to run downwind
- Second-hand prices are low
Trade-offs
- Brand is gone: no parts, no warranty, no dealer
- No published weight or layup table
- Rare outside Iberia and Scandinavia
What paddlers say
No independent owner review located as of August 2026; the model is known mainly from the Global Surfski coverage of the range and from the community chart.Reported experience
Where to buy
The Dominator XL is out of production. It turns up on the second-hand market; there is no new-boat channel for it.
Maker closed Zedtech is no longer trading. zedtech.pt no longer resolves and no dealer lists the range. The boats survive in community charts and classifieds.
Nobody sells Zedtech new. The second-hand market is the only channel.
Zedtech has not traded for years, so there is no current price. Second-hand boats turn up in Portugal, Spain and Norway.
