Nelo Viper 46
Narrow, low-volume touring/K1 hull with a fine entry almost identical to Nelo's Cinco sprint K1 forward of the cockpit, flattening and gaining width and volume toward the stern for usable secondary stability. Moderate rocker, hard-ish chines; built for glide and acceleration rather than forgiveness.

Suits: Flatwater training and racing (Danish/marathon touring-kayak class rules); usable in light chop by experienced paddlers but not designed for open ocean or confused water. The SOT 'Ski' variant extends it to light ocean/downwind use.
Paddler weight
This hull is built around a paddler of about 76 kg. It stays workable from 67 kg to 81 kg, and sits at its best between 71 kg and 78 kg.

Generations
Original Viper 46, offered mainly in A1/WWR/F layups; predates SCS as standard option.
Current 'K1 Cinco 46' shape - Nelo takes design lines from the Cinco sprint K1. Sold in L and XXL (>85kg) sizes. Not offered in A1 (entry glass) layup, only E/F/G/SCS/WWR. A dedicated sit-on-top surfski version ('Viper 46 Ski') using the same hull launched ~2019-2020 for open-water/rough-water use.

What works
- Very fast for a stable-enough trainer - closest Viper to true sprint-K1 glide and acceleration
- Excellent build quality and finish consistent with Nelo's race boats
- XXL size available for taller/heavier paddlers over 85kg
- Cinco-derived bow makes it a genuine bridge boat toward Olympic-class K1s
Trade-offs
- Least stable Viper - a real step up in difficulty from the 51/55/48
- Not offered in the cheaper A1 fibreglass layup, so entry price is higher than other Vipers
- Limited secondary stability means capsize recovery is a genuine risk for less experienced paddlers
- Not intended for rough/open ocean despite forum interest in using it that way
