Aquarius Coaster

5.8m x 48cm ski that Aquarius describes as a racing kayak's speed with a sit-on-top's safety, borrowing its bottom profile from their sprint hulls. Aimed at competitors and former competitors who want to train on the sea rather than at first-timers.

Both scores are rated at the hull's own design weight. How these are derived.

Rated from the community chart's 48cm beam and 5.8m length against this index's own scale, not from a paddle test. 48cm at 5.8m is a shorter intermediate hull; the sprint-kayak bottom profile Aquarius describes would sharpen it on flat water and is not something a beam figure can show.

Suits: Sea training for a flatwater racer, and open water generally.

Paddler weight

This hull is built around a paddler of about 89 kg. It stays workable from 78 kg to 94 kg, and sits at its best between 82 kg and 90 kg.

Derived from published hull dimensions and calibrated against manufacturer paddler limits, not taken from a marketing range. The method, in full.

Generations

2012-present

Aquarius has built kayaks in Poland since 1983 and is the largest composite kayak maker in the Polish market. The Coaster was shown at KanuMesse and went into production for the 2012 season as the brand's one surfski.
