Shorter (5.5m) hull with volume distributed further aft and a seat set slightly further forward than the 560, letting it pick up runs earlier and turn like a much shorter ski while still gliding well on the flat; reduced bow volume makes it push through waves rather than climb over them.

- Catches runs early and easily, forgiving and confidence-inspiring for intermediate paddlers learning downwind
- Turns/carves on waves far more than typical race skis of similar length
- Adjustable foot brace/rudder pedal system praised as innovative
- Bow deflector effective at keeping spray off downwind
Trade-offs
- Slower than the 560 on flat water / for advanced-elite racers chasing outright top speed
- Firm foot strap and rubber footplate stoppers felt mushy/uncomfortable to some paddlers before adjustment
- Less bow volume means it can bury the nose slightly under load in confused water
- Narrower stability margin than true beginner skis (540/520) despite marketing as high-level fun
