## Specifications
- Length: 6.58 m
- Beam: 43 cm
- Deck height: 33.5 cm (estimated)
- Usually paddled by: Racers

## Ratings (Surfski Index estimates)
- Stability band 4–6 out of 10 (dimension estimate, low confidence).
- Speed rated 9 out of 10.

Modelled from published beam, length and deck height. Low confidence. Speed is our rating. Both are given at the hull's own design weight.

These ratings are Surfski Index estimates, worked out from published dimensions, traced hull shapes where we have them, and reviews. They are not supplied by the maker or timed on the water. How a ski feels depends on your weight, skill, set-up and the conditions, so use them to shortlist skis and paddle one before you buy. Method: https://surfskiindex.com/how-it-works/#limits

Evidence note: This band is estimated from published dimensions. Qualitative context includes 1 paddler report and 3 linked sources.

## Paddler weight
Estimated sweet spot 80–93 kg, broader estimated guide 65–96 kg. An estimate from hull dimensions, not the designer's intended weight.

## Suits
Ocean racing and downwind, in the hands of a paddler already comfortable on a 43cm ski.

## Hull
6.58m x 43cm long-distance ocean racer, the boat that launched the brand in 2009 and was pitched at the time as a leaner answer to the Epic V10 of that era. Long waterline, narrow beam, no concession to a paddler still learning to sit on a ski.

## What works
- Elite footprint at second-hand money
- Longest hull Zedtech built
- Hand-laid Portuguese composite construction

## Trade-offs
- Brand is gone: no parts, no warranty, no dealer
- No published weight or layup table
- Unforgiving beam for anyone but an experienced paddler

## Generations
- 2009-2010s: Zedtech built handmade composite kayaks and surfskis in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal. The Dominator arrived in March 2009 as the brand's long-distance ocean ski and the Griffin followed that December; a Lightning and an XL version of the Dominator widened the range to four before the brand went quiet.

## What paddlers say
- No independent English-language review located as of August 2026. The Dominator was covered by the Portuguese surfski community and the Global Surfski blog when it launched in 2009.
