## Ratings (Surfski Index estimates)
- Stability rated 9 out of 10 (traced hull, medium confidence).
- Speed rated 4 out of 10.

Modelled from this hull's traced beam and depth at its design weight. Medium confidence. Speed is our rating. Both are given at the hull's own design weight.

These ratings are Surfski Index estimates, worked out from published dimensions, traced hull shapes where we have them, and reviews. They are not supplied by the maker or timed on the water. How a ski feels depends on your weight, skill, set-up and the conditions, so use them to shortlist skis and paddle one before you buy. Method: https://surfskiindex.com/how-it-works/#limits

## Paddler weight
Carbonology rates this hull for paddlers from 50 kg to 120 kg.

## Suits
Flatwater and sheltered-bay learning, touring with gear, hire fleets and schools. Not a downwind boat.

## Hull
A 5.2 m x 54 cm rotomoulded polyethylene hull, 30 cm shorter and 2 cm narrower than the composite Cruze X but far heavier at roughly 23-24 kg. Front and rear storage compartments, bungy rigging, a carbon footplate, one-way bullet scuppers and an optional steel overstern rudder. The venturi system is built from carbon paddle shaft offcuts so it can be reshaped and replaced.

## What works
- Cheapest way into the range by a wide margin
- Rotomoulded, so it survives being dropped, dragged and hired out
- Real storage compartments front and rear

## Trade-offs
- 23-24 kg: heavy to carry, heavy on the water
- Slowest craft in the range
- Plastic hull cannot be repaired the way a composite one can

## Generations
- 2023-: Rotomoulded sister to the composite Cruze X, aimed at hire fleets, paddling schools and recreational/touring buyers.
