## Ratings (Surfski Index estimates)
- Stability band 7–9 out of 10 (dimension estimate, low confidence).
- Speed rated 6 out of 10.

Modelled from published beam, length and deck height. Low confidence. Speed is our rating. Both are given at the hull's own design weight.

These ratings are Surfski Index estimates, worked out from published dimensions, traced hull shapes where we have them, and reviews. They are not supplied by the maker or timed on the water. How a ski feels depends on your weight, skill, set-up and the conditions, so use them to shortlist skis and paddle one before you buy. Method: https://surfskiindex.com/how-it-works/#limits

## Paddler weight
Carbonology rates this hull for paddlers from 50 kg to 125 kg per seat.

## Suits
Family and mixed-ability ocean paddling, downwind with a crew, club use. Rough water is within its brief.

## Hull
A 7.2 m x 52 cm double on a 39 cm deck with two 42 cm buckets 21 cm deep. Extra rocker in the nose and tail lets a relatively short double pick up and hold ocean waves, and the cockpit rails are deliberately low so a crew can get back on after a swim. Two soft-cover handles are set at the knees, at the weight-wise midpoint, so one person can carry it.

## What works
- Low cockpit rails make a mid-ocean remount realistic for a crew
- Rockered enough to catch runs despite the stability
- Carries one-handed on the balance-point handles

## Trade-offs
- 7.2 m needs somewhere to live and a proper roof rack
- Gives up real speed to the Zest X and Flash X doubles
- Best-seller status is the maker’s claim; no third-party review exists

## Generations
- 2022-: The X-generation family double, and Carbonology’s best-selling two-seater. Low cockpit rails for easier remounts and revised seat ergonomics were the changes over the previous Boost double.
